What is an outlet store? What did JCPenney sell their outlet stores to SB Capital Group?
SB Capital Group formed a new retail
entity in October 2011 called JC’s 5 Star Outlet. At that time they
completed an acquisition of 15 JCPenney Outlet Stores from J. C. Penney Company,
Inc. The stores were later rebranded at JC’s 5 Star Outlet. J. C. Penney
Company, Inc. continued to supply the Outlet Stores with overstocks and
end-of-season merchandise, providing a loyal customer base of outlet shoppers an
assurance of finding the same quality, value, convenience and service they are
accustomed to and recognize.
JC's 5 Star Outlet operates as a
subsidiary of SB Capital Group, LLC.
