Just as kids continue to grow like weeds, so does the market for children's
swimwear. In just one year at the annual Swimwear Association of Florida's
SwimShow, the category reported nearly 25 percent growth, and more swimwear
lines for kids will be added for this year's show, July 20-23, 2013 at the Miami Beach
Convention Center.
This year's
31st annual global trade show will welcome more than 8,500 attendees
and 2,500 brands from 60 countries. Hot swimwear lines for kids will include
Cache, Kiwi, Cabana Life, Stella Cove, Floatimini, Snapper Rock, Lemons &
Limes, Planet Sea, Squirtini Bikini, Rachel Riley, Hula Star and many
more.
"The
children's category has shown exceptional growth over the last few years as more
and more moms enjoy keeping their kids fashionable for summer. And with the
natural wear and tear younger children generate on swimwear and by virtue of
their normal growth, this category continues to make a splash at
SwimShow," said Judy Stein, Executive Director of the Swimwear Association of
Florida. "As the industry's biggest, best and most
established exhibition, we enjoy established relationships with the best
retailers in the world. Now that there's more interest in the kids swim market
across all retail platforms, we're seeing strong growth in women's stores,
higher end department stores and well-known designer brands coming out with
mother/daughter or father/son matching swimwear lines, which we absolutely
love."
In addition, with
the growth and shift in kids swimwear as a fashion category, manufacturers have
stepped up the design, craftsmanship and options for kids
beachwear.
Children's
swimwear isn't the only thing that's bigger and better than ever at SwimShow
this year: This year's show offers nearly 400,000
square feet dedicated to swimwear buyers and lovers from across the globe.
SwimShow is the
premier resource for buyers from all swimwear categories, and caters to designer
boutiques, resort shops, specialty stores, surf shops, department stores, mass
merchants and more. This global trade show includes buyers, manufacturers,
designers, corporate personnel, press, bloggers, fashion consultants, stylists
and other fashion industry leaders. SwimShow features a variety of iconic
women's, men's and children's swimwear companies.
The Swimwear
Association of Florida's number one priority it to make this show the most
beneficial and enjoyable purchasing destination and to help our members'
business succeed. To help with this effort, SAF has partnered with the Miami
Beach Visitor and Convention Authority and is again offering SwimShow members
and guests access to the INCARD so that they are eligible for additional
discounts at locations and attractions throughout the city.
"Children's
swimwear is a wonderful part of this year's growth and our overall success story
as we move into our fourth decade," said SwimShow organizer Judy Stein. "We
enjoy showcasing the best in children's, women's and men's swimwear as well as
beautiful resortwear, accessories, lifestyle, and lingerie, creating a true
must-attend event in the heart of Miami Beach."
Driven
by interest in body care, more relaxed dress codes, and the growth of the beauty
and spa industry, the world market for swimwear and beachwear is projected to
exceed $17.6 billion by the year 2015, according to Global Industry Analysts,
yet another reason for the ongoing growth and expansion of SwimShow.
