Junk Food and Gap Collaborate on Limited Collection

Gap is proud to announce the launch of its first "Junk Food Loves Gap Kids" collections in China and Hong Kong this fall.  Gap, one of the most iconic brands from the U.S, has a long standing collaboration with the Los Angeles based t-shirt company, Junk Food. This first, new limited edition collection in China is inspired by three different superheroes: Superman, Batman and Spider-Man, with a range of products for boys, aged 2-5. The collection became available for purchase starting on September 24th, 2012 in mainland Chinese and Hong Kong stores, as well as online, www.gap.cn and www.gap.hk.

Los Angeles based Junk Food Clothing was founded in 1998 as the original vintage T-shirt company. Using a relaxed, retro style, their t-shirts bring to mind the classic pop culture characters of yesteryear. With its comfy, cozy fabric and cool graphics, this brand has attracted the attention of many Hollywood stars including supermodel Heidi Klum's daughter, Leni Klum, American rocker Ashlee Simpson's son, Bronx Weltz, Hollywood actress Angelina Jolie's son, Maddox Jolie-Pitt and American pop-star Gwen Stefani's son, Zuma Rossdale.

The Limited Edition "Junk Food Loves Gap Kids" collection's theme will feature three American super heroes: Superman, Batman and Spider-Man.

Superman Line: This line will feature the classic red, yellow, and blue Superman Logo on sweaters, and other retro superman designs on long sleeve T-shirts, acid wash rolled-up jeans, down vests, wool caps, gloves, socks, and canvas sneakers.

Batman Line: Elements of this line include the classic yellow and black Batman design on sweaters, long sleeved T-shirts, acid wash rolled-up jeans, down vests, wool caps, gloves, socks, and canvas sneakers.

Spider-Man Line: This line will feature the mask design of Spider-Man on sweaters, as well as white spider-web like acid designs on rolled-up jeans, wool caps, gloves, socks and canvas sneakers.

Gap's flagship stores on Shanghai's West Nanjing Rd and Hong Kong's Queen's Road Central stores will change their exterior and interior style to celebrate the launch in true Superhero style. Customers will feel like they are in the Superman, Batman or Spider-Man comic, while reliving memories from their own childhood.

Vera: Bindya New York

Bringing new life to the legacy of Vera, Bindya New York will introduce the first scarf collections for Spring 2013 for both the Vera® and The Signature Collection by Vera® lines as part of a new licensing agreement. Inspired by and honoring the expansive artwork of iconic American artist Vera Neumann, Bindya New York will take pride continuing to build the brand.

"I have always been fascinated by Vera's designs and prints. The pops of bright color, bold patterns, and whimsical prints have completely drawn me in," says designer Bindya Lulla. "I am so excited to revive the timeless Vera archives and release them during a time when scarves have become a must-have accessory."

"We are thrilled to be partnering with Bindya in both the Vera® and The Signature Collection by Vera® lines," says Susan Seid, President of The Vera Company. "The quality, design sensibility and commitment to the growth of the brand make Bindya the perfect match with Vera's bright, happy, and inspirational art."

About Bindya New York: Bindya New York launched in 2000 and quickly became recognized for luxurious cashmeres in standout patterns and colors. Lulla Collection was added in 2010 for the younger, more price-conscious shopper, and 2012 marks the launch of the newest line, On a Whim, which focuses on more graphic prints and whimsical designs.

About the Vera Company: Vera was a pioneer in design who successfully cross-licensed her designs into linens, scarves and sportswear. Her company began at her kitchen table in 1947 and grew into a multi-million dollar international business. All Vera products started as original pieces of art from her own hand and sported the distinctive Vera signature (often with a ladybug) trademark. After years of being dormant, the beloved Vera brand is back and is experiencing resurgence among old and new fans alike - for once you know Vera, you adore her. Worn for decades by style icons including Marilyn Monroe, Vera scarves are sought after and enjoyed by collectors around the world.

Eva Longoria Going Door to Door for Project Imaginat10n

Eva Longoria has partnered with Canon for “Project Imaginat10n,” a creative exercise where she’ll pick ten consumer photos to inspire a short film she directs under the mentorship of Ron Howard. Jamie Foxx, Biz Stone (Co-Founder of Twitter), James Murphy (Founder of LCD Soundsystem) and Georgina Chapman (designer and co-founder of Marchesa) are also part of this endeavor.

Recently, Eva went literally door to door to find inspiration – popping up at an office, in a photography class and at people’s homes to seek out photos from everyday people and places. You might have seen some images from this surprise as she surprised fans in her 9-inch heels with the mission to find inspiring photos! She gets quite personal during the hunt and you’ll definitely get a kick out of her questions…
